a work-at-home wife's journey within the four walls called HOME

My friends and I have been discussing about our electric bills over facebok. It was fun to read all those comments. One friend was complaining about how their bill soared. It was unbelievably high—I would worry so much if I had a bill like that myself.

We are really living in hard times. It’s advised that we keep our cost of living as low as possible. There are things to give up, there will be compromises—and it’s important that the family agrees on this.

Maybe it’s wise to invest in memory foam mattress because they are a lot cooler. It would also help if the aircon could be turned on when the humidity is unbearable. Otherwise, a fan would do just fine.

Seems like it will take me forever to totally get rid of the things that we don’t need or unimportant now. Before we moved almost a year ago, I gave away a lot of things. Weeks after we’re settled, I gave tons of clothes and other home stuffs to our next door neighbor. When typhoon Sendong hit Cagayan de Oro City, I sent a huge box to my sister and another box to fellow bloggers. I thought I have given away everything that we don’t use only to realize that there are stuffs that needs another home.

Yesterday, I started de-cluttering again with my youngest sister. I have to pass on to her some kitchen stuffs that are sitting in the cabinet for months. I know I need it in the future but she and her family needs it more now because they were left with nothing when the flood caused by Typhoon Sendong hit their place. Along with segregating things to be given away, I am also going through our documents and papers that accumulated for years. A lot of fliers, documents, papers, pamphlets including term life insurance quotes from insurance agents went to the trash. I need those, I know, but the rates must have changed so better get rid of those papers and ask for a new quote when I and the husband has extra budget for life insurance.
